1. Who we are
Pocketly (com.yasmen.pocketly) is a personal finance app for tracking income, expenses, savings plans, budgets, bill reminders, and shared ledgers. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Pocketly, we may process:
- Account data: email address, username, and password (stored by our authentication provider; we do not see your raw password).
- Financial records you enter: incomes, expenses, categories, payment methods, amounts, notes, plans, budgets, and starting balances.
- Receipt images: photos you take or pick from your gallery, if you attach a receipt to an expense. These are uploaded to our storage.
- Imported transactions: amounts and details you confirm after importing from SMS, shared text, or a CSV file.
- Shared ledger data: if you join or create a group ledger, members of that ledger can see the transactions and related records in that ledger.
- App preferences stored on your device: language, theme, notification settings, SMS-import settings, and app-lock options.
3. SMS access (optional)
If you enable SMS import, Pocketly may read SMS messages on your device to find bank or wallet notifications and suggest transactions. This happens only after you grant SMS permission.
- We scan messages to extract likely financial amounts, merchants, and dates.
- Only transactions you import (or auto-import, if you turn that on) are saved to your account.
- We do not use SMS to send messages, and we do not sell SMS content.
- You can deny or revoke SMS permission in Android settings. The rest of the app still works.
4. Camera, photos, and shared text
- Camera / photos: used only to attach invoice or receipt images to expenses.
- Share to Pocketly: if you share plain text into the app, we parse it so you can add a transaction.
- CSV import: files you pick stay under your control; we store the transactions you confirm.
5. App lock and biometrics
App lock (PIN and optional fingerprint / Face ID) stays on your device. Your PIN is stored as a salted hash in secure storage. Biometric data never leaves the device and is handled by the operating system.
6. Notifications
With your permission, Pocketly can send local reminders (for example bill due dates and a daily digest). These alerts are scheduled on your device. A notification inbox copy may also be stored with your account so you can review it in the app.
7. How we use information
- Create and secure your account, including password reset by email.
- Show your balances, charts, plans, budgets, and reminders.
- Sync your data across devices when you are signed in.
- Support optional imports (SMS, shared text, CSV) and receipt attachments.
- Check for app updates from the official store listing.
- Operate shared ledgers that you choose to join.
8. Where data is stored
Signed-in account and financial data are stored with Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage). Some preferences and offline queues stay on your device until they can sync. Communication with our backend uses HTTPS.
The app may load the Quicksand font from Google Fonts. Opening “Update” in an upgrade prompt sends you to Google Play or the App Store.
9. Sharing
We share information only when needed to run the app:
- Supabase: hosts accounts, financial records, and receipt files under our project.
- Other ledger members: only data in a shared ledger you joined.
- Legal requests: if required by applicable law.
We do not sell personal information.
10. Retention and deletion
We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account). That permanently removes your profile, incomes, expenses, plans, and related records we store for you, as far as our systems allow. Copies in a shared ledger may remain visible to other members of that ledger.
11. Children
Pocketly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
12. Your choices
- Edit profile details such as your username.
- Turn SMS import, auto-import, camera, photos, and notifications on or off.
- Delete individual transactions, receipts, or your whole account.
- Request access or correction by contacting us as described below.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Pocketly after an update means you accept the revised policy.
14. Contact
For privacy questions, use the developer contact details on the Pocketly Google Play listing (package ID com.yasmen.pocketly), or delete your data from the in-app account deletion option.
